About Me

:D Hi all, I was born in Toronto. Ontario, but have lived in Bracebridge (a two hour drive north of the city) for many years. My association with area began back in the mid 50's, it's also where  I met and married my wife in 1962. We both have a strong attraction to things rural, and after 47 years my wife still finds me lovable so it's worked out well.

Both I and my wife have always had a keen interest in the environment and hopefully that's reflected in our new home. The new house faces south and the greenhouse when added, will supply some solar gain. An Ecoflo Biofilter Septic system was installed, waste is pre treated in a moss filled chamber, lowering contaminants before being released to the dispersal field (The ideal technology for the long-term protection of lakes, watercourses, and groundwater). Currently we're looking at different wood heating appliances as a supplement to our main source of heat which is propane, hot water is supplied by a Rinnia propane on demand system and we cook with propane. Due to the number of power outages we've had over the last three and a half years a back up propane powered generator is also being considered. We will be incorporating the two solar panels we own into the new home, possibly to power outdoor lighting for starters. I think all of us have a responsibility to do something to help the environment, even if it's in a small way.

:) I've taken a number of courses over the years, that have included Art (night courses and correspondence) and finally picked up my art again after many years starting with TB., some sketching, colored pencil and have also developed the photography bug. Was using a Kodak EasyShare CX 4230 Point & Shoot, but recently purchased a Nikon D5000. My goal is to do more pencil sketching over the next year or so, something I haven't done in a long time & to work more with TB.

After our last stint at working in Toronto for almost four years, we decided early on we needed a business to take with us when we left the city and so the "Sun Country Emporium" was born. After our move from the city and we had lived on the property for a year, it was decided a name change and logo revamp was in order to better reflect our ideas and surroundings. So Sun Country became "Foggy Hollow Creations".

Our goal is to provide themed Gift Baskets for all occasions along with Home and Cottage Decor, Garden Decor and Hand Crafted Items.

So there you have it,some of my history, thoughts & goals.

Bill.

Bill - Really enjoyed seeing your pix of the place, pets, and so much lush greenery. I visited Toronto once & never would have guessed your gardens could be so lovely out there. All the best. - Cartune
