what's the difference between "clear page" and "fill page"

hello

i would like to ask you what's the difference between the "clear page" function and the "fill page" function.

in both cases it erases the page with a color.

Clear page erases the current layer to transparent (or selected paper color on the background layer).

Fill page fill the layer with the currently selected color.
